We have an exciting opportunity for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and forward-thinking school in Bodmin. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced educators, gain valuable classroom experience, and make a real difference in the lives of our students.

Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to teachers across various subject areas. Your responsibilities will include:
Classroom Support: In your role as a teaching assistant, you will support instructors in leading small group activities, giving students one-on-one attention, and creating dynamic and interesting classes.
Individualized Learning: To ensure that every student reaches their full potential, you will help by adjusting teaching materials and offering focused interventions. You will also collaborate closely with students who need extra support.
Behaviour Management: Helping to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging polite conduct, and putting behavior management techniques into practice.
Assessments and Progress Monitoring: Assisting instructors in gathering data from students, giving feedback, and evaluating their progress in order to develop effective teaching methods and interventions.
Involvement: Promoting student participation and personal growth by helping with extracurricular activities including clubs, sporting events, and school trips, and by giving back to the larger school community.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

A degree from any school, demonstrating your dedication to learning well. It is preferred to have a degree with a 2:2 or higher.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills that let you establish a good rapport with parents, teachers, and students.
A vivacious and proactive approach that shows your love of learning and your readiness to go above and beyond to assist students in their academic endeavors.
Flexibility and adaptability are essential since you'll be supporting diverse teaching philosophies and working on a variety of subjects.
The capacity to work well both individually and in a group, fostering a cooperative and encouraging learning environment in the classroom.
Hold a DBS registered to the update service or apply through GSL Education.
