SEN Outreach Tutor (Havering)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Prospero Teaching is recruiting an SEN Outreach Tutor to provide 1:1 tailored tuition to young people in Havering who are currently not accessing mainstream education.

The role involves planning and delivering personalised English and Maths lessons for pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and anxiety-related difficulties. Many pupils may have experienced disrupted education and low confidence, so a patient, flexible and engaging approach is essential.

You will assess progress, write session reports, contribute to individual education plans, and work closely with Prospero Teaching and other professionals to support pupil engagement, confidence, and routine.

CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS

• Location - Havering * Role - SEN Outreach Tutor * Type - Temporary contract * Start date - ASAP * Hours - 1-3 hours per session * Pay - From £25 per hour * Working pattern - Part time or full time (flexible)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent * Experience working with SEN or additional needs * Ability to support English and Maths * Experience planning personalised sessions and writing reports * Minimum 6 months' UK experience working with young people * Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Right to Work in the UK * Enhanced DBS (child workforce), or willingness to apply * Two professional child-related references (last two years)
