Field Service Engineer - South of England

We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of high-quality processing equipment. This is a field-based role covering the South of the UK, supporting a wide customer base across the FMCG sector.

Responsibilities of a Field Service Engineer

The role involves servicing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing advanced machinery on-site, ensuring maximum uptime and performance for customers. You’ll be managing your own diary, with regular travel to customer locations.

• Carry out planned and reactive service, maintenance, and repairs on industrial FMCG machinery.
• Support commissioning and installation of new equipment, including set-up, testing, and operator training.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Work with technical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC-controlled systems (basic fault-finding).
• Provide excellent customer support, ensuring equipment is running to specification.
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
• Travel throughout the South UK with occasional overnight stays (approx 10-15 nights a year)
• Company van, phone & tablet is provided

Skills & Experience for a Field Service Engineer

• Previous experience as a Service Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Field Engineer, ideally within food processing, packaging, or FMCG machinery.
• Strong mechanical skills, electrical is desirable
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
