Service Coordinator (DFG)

We are seeking a Service Coordinator to join our team on an ongoing temporary basis to provide comprehensive administrative support for the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Home Adaptations Service. This role is crucial in helping residents live safely and independently in their own homes through suitable adaptations. Immediate start available.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide administrative support across various mediums such as in person, telephone, letter, and email, ensuring queries are resolved at first contact.
  • Complete home visits to support residents with administrative tasks.
  • Handle the efficient and accurate processing of applications and related tasks.
  • Undertake data input and document production using a range of systems.
  • Act as the first point of contact for residents, internal staff, and external partners.
  • Manage and process all incoming DFG referrals through the case management system.
  • Ensure customer survey questionnaires are returned and recorded to monitor KPIs.
  • Manage administrative tasks including minute taking, scanning, uploading forms, photocopying, and printing.
  • Liaise with colleagues within the Council and partner organisations, providing advice on specific DFG matters.
  • Respond to resident queries, comments, or complaints within the level of responsibility.
  • Raise purchase orders, process invoices, and arrange payment for goods and services.
  • Work flexibly and handle correspondence on behalf of others.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven administrative experience, preferably within a local authority or similar environment.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in using software systems to update records and manage information accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with teams and individuals.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information and providing a person-centred service.
