Mechanical Engineer

Location: Birmingham (static site)
Type: Temp to Perm (via umbrella)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Rate: £23-25 per hour (umbrella)
Salary (Perm): £40,000 per annum
Start: ASAP

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer for a temp-to-perm opportunity on a static site in Birmingham. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and general mechanical maintenance to ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Engineer:

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks

* Respond to and complete reactive maintenance work

* Perform general mechanical maintenance across the site

* Fault-finding and troubleshooting mechanical issues

* Ensure all work is completed in line with current regulations and standards

* Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs

* Work safely and comply with all health & safety procedures

Requirements of a Mechanical Engineer:

* NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

* Proven experience in maintenance (PPM and reactive)

* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
