We have an excellent career opportunity for the role of Maintenance Person to join our team here at Kirklands Care Group based at our 2 care homes in Leicester – Meadows Court Care Home and Spencefield Grange Care Home.

Pay: We have an excellent pay rate of £15.00 an hour.

Contract: 5 days over a 7-day period, as agreed with the Facilities Manager / Home Manager.

Job overview:

To ensure both care homes are well-maintained, safe, and fully operational. The Handyman will carry out general repairs, maintenance tasks, and minor improvements to keep the homes comfortable and compliant with health and safety standards for residents, staff, and visitors. You will be working alongside 2 other Maintenance Persons to form a team of 3 persons, to look after 2 care homes.

General Maintenance & Repairs
· Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across two care homes, including: painting and decorating, basic plumbing and electrical repairs, joinery, tiling and general carpentry work, garden and external maintenance, refurbishments of bedrooms and communal areas.

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment, fittings, and fixtures remain in good working order.

Safety & Compliance
· Conduct regular checks on fire alarms, emergency lighting, and safety equipment.

Record Keeping & Communication
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs across all homes.

Travel & Scheduling
· Be flexible to travel between sites as needed, depending on priorities or emergencies.
