Forklift Driver / General Despatch Operative

Hourly Rate: £14.50 an hour
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm out of season and 7:30am - 5:30pm in season

My client is seeking a permanent Forklift Driver / General Despatch Operative to join their team based in Suffolk. This is a hands-on role requiring safe and efficient movement of stock across outdoor yard areas and indoor greenhouse environments.

The Role

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement loading and unloading of plants, preparing stock for despatch and supporting general operational duties as required. The role includes working with Danish trolleys and pallets and assisting with manual handling when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently

• Loading and unloading goods

• Repacking plants onto Danish trolleys and pallets

• Moving stock within the greenhouse and yard areas

• Ensuring the quality and presentation of plants

• Supporting general greenhouse duties where required

• Following all health and safety procedures

• Conducting daily pre-shift safety checks on equipment

Requirements

• Valid in-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence

• Previous forklift driving experience

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

• Good attention to detail

• A team player with a flexible approach
