Our Client is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead all mechanical and electrical (M&E) design activities from pre-construction through to project delivery. This is a critical leadership role managing internal technical teams, external consultants, and liaising with client and contractor design teams to ensure coordinated, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the in-house M&E design team, providing technical guidance and mentoring.

* Oversee external consultants, review designs, and ensure deliverables meet client requirements.

* Act as the main point of contact for design-related communications with clients and stakeholders.

* Coordinate design processes using BIM tools and traditional methods, ensuring integration across disciplines.

* Develop and manage design deliverables schedules aligned with project programmes.

* Prepare and review technical submittals, RFIs, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

* Drive value engineering initiatives and propose innovative technical solutions.

* Manage as-built drawings, commissioning data, and O&M documentation for project handover.

Requirements:

* Proven experience in M&E design management within residential and commercial projects.

* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

* Proficiency in BIM tools (Revit/Navisworks) and understanding of British Standards and building regulations.

* Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining quality and compliance.
