About the RoleWe are looking for a passionate Secondary SEN Teacher to join our specialist SEN school, supporting pupils aged 11-16 (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4).
This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that support both academic progress and personal development.
You will help create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment, supporting students to build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for secondary pupils with SEN.
Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of learning needs and abilities.
Assess and monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets and learning plans.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing within the classroom.
Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to support student learning.
Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals.
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including activities, events, and meetings.
What We're Looking ForEssential
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to deliver differentiated teaching for a range of learning needs
Desirable
Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Understanding of EHCPs, SEN strategies, and inclusive teaching approaches
