LAW Absolute is working with a collaborative and well regarded East London local authority who is seeking a Childcare Lawyer on a locum basis. Our client is looking for a candidate to join their progressive and highly-motivated team on an initial 3 month contract with a strong likelihood for extension.

From the outset, the successful Childcare Lawyer will be expected to carry a diverse caseload whilst working autonomously to a high standard. To be successful in this role it is essential that you enjoy working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Previous experience of carrying a caseload of between 10-12 cases in proceedings and circa. 5 PLO matters is essential.

Childcare Lawyers in the team can expect to advise and represent in a variety of cases relating to childcare matters including child protections issues, fostering and adoption processes and public law care proceedings. In addition, the role will involve;


• Handling matters in both proceedings and pre-proceedings


• The preparation and delivery of briefs to Counsel for certain case hearings


• Meeting with expert witnesses and undertaking advocacy up to one day contested final hearings.

This role currently offers remote working.
