Key Responsibilities

Configure and operate manual horizontal boring machines to produce precision parts in accordance with technical engineering drawings and specifications.

Machine components to tight tolerances, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Perform accurate self-inspections using precision measuring tools to verify part conformity.

Conduct regular machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and productivity.

Read and interpret complex technical drawings to plan and execute machining tasks.

Work closely with the production team, reporting to the Works Manager/Production Planning Manager, to meet contractual delivery requirements.

Be willing to work overtime when required to meet production demands.

Required Skills and Experience

A strong track record as a Manual Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator with hands-on experience in horizontal boring and milling.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to fine tolerances.

Proficient in using measuring tools for accurate self-inspections.

Experience in medium to heavy engineering environments, ideally with knowledge of machining diverse materials.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and motivated attitude.

Familiarity with CNC horizontal boring machines and/or Heidenhain control systems is a plus but not essential.
