You will ensure efficient, accurate, and safe warehouse operations while maintaining high levels of service, cost control, and compliance with company standards.

Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensuring correct quantities, prices, and order codes are used, and that price breaks are considered. Monitoring and chasing all purchase orders in line with agreed lead times, and producing Excel reports to track outstanding orders and priorities.
Stock and warehouse management - Ensuring fast-moving items are sufficiently stocked to prevent delays. Maintaining accurate visibility of all warehouse stock to enable quick and reliable responses to stock queries. Managing warehouse space utilisation to ensure safe and efficient use across all areas.
Supplier management - Communicating daily with suppliers, building strong working relationships, handling queries, negotiating best prices and price breaks, and resolving discrepancies, rejections, and credit requests.
Import management - Comparing best prices, arranging and coordinating import shipments from international suppliers via air, sea, and road. Monitoring shipments in transit and acting as the main point of contact for import queries.
Export shipment management - Monitoring all outbound orders to ensure successful delivery. Acting on any exceptions or delays, escalating where necessary, and liaising with internal teams to resolve customs or delivery issues.
Goods in and quality control - Receiving and booking in stock into quarantine before completing quality checks. Verifying goods against purchase orders for accuracy, reporting discrepancies, and following up with suppliers. Ensuring all items meet quality standards before allocation and managing returns and credit processes.
Health and safety - Maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard-free warehouse environment. Identifying and implementing improvements to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Lifting equipment maintenance - Ensuring all warehouse equipment is correctly maintained, inspected, and compliant with required standards, with all records accurately maintained.
Cross-department collaboration and order management - Providing accurate stock updates and lead time information to sales teams. Monitoring order progress, chasing production where required, and ensuring priorities are met to support customer demand.
Team management - Managing the warehouse and dispatch team, including recruitment, training, performance, workload allocation, holidays, and general team support.
Packaging - Acting as the key contact for packaging requirements, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost-saving initiatives through ongoing negotiation and review.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation.
