Location: Remote with occasional visits to Edinburgh

Whilst this position is remote, and the company welcomes applications from individuals within 2 hours of the UK time zone, you will need to be open to travelling to the office in Edinburgh every 8 weeks or so and some international travel to America.

Used and loved by almost all schools in Scotland, they provide digital learning tools with the ambitious goal to make learning accessible and fun for everyone, no matter their background. The company have plans to expand their product into new geographical markets, and therefore require an experienced Product Owner to join the friendly and collaborative team.


In this role, you will work as part of an agile development squad. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • gather user insights, both from user interactions, and by working with the data science team
  • analyse and understand these insights, to understand and prioritise their needs
  • working with the squad, identify solutions to meet these needs, and test and refine them
  • help the squad deliver these solutions
  • manage external production work (such as UX design)
  • evaluate solutions against the squad's OKRs
  • develop and document process and learning

Additionally, you will:

  • create a joint product and marketing plan for the project
  • manage the project budget
  • manage the development squad and marketing to deliver on the project objective
  • monitor progress on a regular basis

About you

You must have:

  • a university degree
  • the communication skills to bring the best from the users you're working for, and the colleagues you're working with
  • experience in product management in a software company or equivalent experience in another environment
  • excellent general IT skills and numeracy

  • a methodical, user-research-led approach to product management, with experience in conducting and managing user research
