What you'll do:
As a Financial Accountant based in Watford, you will immerse yourself in a broad spectrum of financial activities that underpin the success of the organisation. Your days will be varied-ranging from producing detailed month end reports that inform strategic decisions, to preparing statutory accounts under FRS102. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external advisors alike, ensuring tax returns are completed efficiently and VAT controls remain robust. Your analytical skills will shine as you review balance sheet reconciliations and provide clarity on complex ledger items. By supporting senior leaders through insightful board reporting and cashflow forecasting, you will help shape the future direction of the business. - Deliver timely and accurate month end reporting to ensure senior management have access to reliable financial information for decision making.
- Act as a key contact for external auditors by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring appropriate support is available throughout the audit process.
- Prepare individual year end statutory accounts under FRS102 standards, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with third party advisors regarding tax returns and other compliance matters to maintain robust tax controls.
- Take responsibility for VAT reporting and associated controls, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant legislation.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the ledgers.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to guarantee all transactions are reported accurately and transparently.
- Support both the Group Financial Controller and Commercial Finance Director on project work as well as day-to-day activities as required.
- Serve as a daily point of contact for the wider Global Finance team, particularly in relation to treasury management responsibilities.
- Maintain and enhance the Group's cashflow forecasting processes to support effective financial planning.
- Assist in preparing reports and analysis for senior management and Board meetings, providing valuable insights into financial performance.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team to drive operational excellence.
