A highly respected and award-winning residential developer-renowned for creating beautiful, sustainable communities-is seeking an ambitious Town Planner to join their expanding Chelmsford team.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a forward-thinking organisation that champions quality design, strategic growth, and long-term placemaking. You'll be joining a collaborative planning function that works closely with land, design, and technical teams to bring new developments from concept through to delivery.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you will:
- Support the promotion of land opportunities through the planning system.
- Prepare and manage planning applications, appeals, and development strategies.
- Undertake site assessments and contribute to masterplanning work.
- Engage with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders to help secure implementable permissions.
- Monitor planning policy changes and advise internal teams accordingly.
- Work on a diverse pipeline of residential-led schemes across the region.
About You
We'd love to speak with candidates who have:
- RTPI-accredited degree or equivalent.
- Experience gained in a developer, consultancy, or local authority environment.
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy and development processes.
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
- Proactive approach, strong organisation, and the confidence to liaise with external partners.
