The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Programme Manager to lead a broad portfolio of international projects and transitions. This role is central to delivering the BSC Growth Programme, working collaboratively with UK and international project teams to ensure clear coordination, strong governance, and transparent delivery throughout the project lifecycle. You will combine strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership, ensuring projects deliver meaningful outcomes aligned to business objectives. This role suits someone who enjoys working across cultures, building strong relationships, and bringing clarity and structure to complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expertise
- Act as the subject matter expert for "to‑be" processes, providing direction and guidance to international project teams
- Ensure local change initiatives remain aligned to overall programme objectives
Governance
- Design and implement effective programme governance frameworks and templates
- Ensure deliverables and business processes are clearly documented, practical, and supportable over their full lifecycle
Programme & Project Planning
- Use in‑depth knowledge of end‑to‑end processes and systems to shape timelines, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks
- Develop and maintain integrated programme plans
- Oversee delivery across multiple workstreams and countries
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with BSC leadership, local country teams, sponsors, and steering committees
- Act as the primary point of contact for delivery of the BSC Growth Programme
- Partner with project managers and senior stakeholders across Heidelberg Materials countries to secure engagement and commitment
- Manage risks and issues proactively, acting as first point of escalation where needed
Team Leadership
- Lead and support assigned project resources, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment
Accountability and Impact
- Responsible for the successful delivery of a multi‑country programme of initiatives, including system upgrades, implementations, and service centralisation
- Accountable for both financial and non‑financial outcomes aligned to programme objectives
