Multi-Skilled Engineer- Mech Bias

Salary: £45,000 basic

OTE: £65,000 - £80,000 (with overtime & weekend work)

Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm

Location: Yeovil

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking manufacturing business that has recently undergone significant investment in both facilities and equipment.

With expansion into a brand-new site, the company is entering an exciting phase of growth and is looking for a proactive engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving cutting-edge production machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be a vital part of the engineering team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the site. Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to maximise equipment reliability

Responding to breakdowns and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime

Diagnosing faults and implementing effective repair solutions

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and efficiency

Assisting with site facilities maintenance to maintain a safe working environment

Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams on projects

About You

We are looking for a hands-on engineer with a strong mechanical bias and basic electrical capability.

Key requirements:

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience in a manufacturing or production environment

Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge (e.g. sensors, motors, cables, single & three-phase systems)

Proven ability in fault finding and diagnostics

Experience using maintenance systems

A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills

Good communication skills and a team-focused mindset

Strong awareness of health & safety standards

(17th/18th Edition is advantageous but not essential)
