Head of Security

Where will you be working?

Our security team constantly maintain the highest standards of safety for all our guests, customers, members, and team. Your position is key to our building having an exceptional safety culture.

What will you be doing?

• Reporting to our Hotel Director, you're responsible for overseeing our security department, ensuring all physical security and licensing compliance for The Ned
• As a subject matter expert, you’ll lead the strategic and day to day security of The Ned, ensuring the security of all members, staff, and property, always with the aim of an exceptional experience
• You’re a role model and will positively drive and improve safety and security culture, leading by example and developing a highly effective security team
• You’ll be the main point of contact and lead on all security, licensing, and security incident investigations, managing safety incidents where required
• To keep us compliant and risk-free, you’ll create and annually update security and licensing policies, procedures, and security risk assessments
• Alongside this, you’ll constantly develop our security plans and identify areas of risk and improvement
• As our head of department for security, you are the main point of contact for our relationship with police, licensing authorities, and noise nuisance enforcement officers
• Managing our CCTV and alarm maintenance contracts, you will oversee all projects and focus on continually improving our processes, in collaboration with our engineering team
• The Ned is 24/7 business, with large events and very busy evenings on our ground floor, so you’ll ensure our security workforce plan is always up to scratch, including supporting some of these evenings yourself and acting as lead security for our most high-profile events
• To keep our teams’ knowledge up to date, you’ll create and deliver innovative training on licensing requirements, capacities, incident management, escalation and reporting, conflict management, and responsible service of alcohol

What can you bring to The Ned?

• You’re proactive and a quick thinker, equally at home on the floor in our fast-paced environment as you are thinking strategically about continuous improvement
• You should have previous experience in a hotel head of department security role
• We require you to have an SIA licence and level 3 fire certification
• As we’re 24/7, and arguably busiest in the evenings, we expect you to lead by example and work late shifts and at weekends when required
