We're supporting a well-established financial services group headquartered in Leeds with Manchester offices in their search for an experienced Interim Financial Controller. This is a high-profile, hands-on leadership role covering technical reporting, controls, and operational finance during a key transitional period.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS
- Own and maintain robust financial controls and policies, ensuring alignment with internal control frameworks
- Oversee statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors to deliver audit requirements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting standards (e.g., FCA) and accounting frameworks
- Manage third-party service providers for financial data delivery relating to Group entities
- Provide strategic oversight of the Accounts Payable function across UK & Ireland, driving KPI performance
- Work closely with Irish clients to manage cash control and oversee operational finance deliverables
- Monitor and report on intercompany transactions and financing structures in line with Group policy
- Partner with the tax team on corporate tax, VAT, and transfer pricing compliance
- Champion continuous improvement by leading finance process automation and systems enhancements
- Advise the Director of Control & Reporting on complex technical accounting matters, including business combinations, revenue recognition, and impairment reviews
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team across reporting, accounting, and transactional finance
About You- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with 8+ years PQE, ideally in financial services or asset management
- Deep technical knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
- Strong experience in group accounting, intercompany reconciliations, and technical accounting reviews
- Proven ability to improve and automate finance processes, systems, and internal controls
- Experience managing or working closely with Accounts Payable teams and outsourced providers
- Confident stakeholder manager, capable of influencing at senior levels and across geographies
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Microsoft D365, Anaplan) and advanced Excel; Power BI is desirable
