About the Job

 

Universal Financial Company is looking for a Verification Specialist!  You will report directly to the Loan Processing and Verifications Manager, and you will be an integral part of the future of the company.  We are looking for someone with prior consumer lending experience as a verifier, funder, or other related position.  Individual must be detail oriented, analytical, have customer service know-how, and excellent written & oral communication skills.  The right candidate for this position will exhibit a strong aptitude for verbal communication as well as have a strong work ethic.   

 

The ideal candidate must be able to provide excellent work quality and have relationship management skills. This position is highly collaborative. Candidate will have to communicate with internal departments, dealer partners, and borrowers. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

·         Conduct customer interviews and employment verification for loan applicants.

·         Review/audit loan applications, clarify and obtain additional information as needed.

·         Verify loan application information by ordering credit, employment, and earnings reports; mail verification forms; and contact verification sources.

·         Review and verify required loan documents such as proof of income, proof of address, collateral information, insurance binders, DMV documents, etc.

·         Call borrowers to verify important loan information, perform borrower interviews, and verify borrower references.

·         Maintain a high level of customer service by communicating with borrowers, dealerships, account executives, and internal team members.

  • Ensure proper documentation is included in all loan files.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

The starting annual salary for this position is between $14.00 and $18.00 per hour, depending on level of experience.

Skills & Qualifications

 

·         Bilingual English/Spanish is required

·         1+ year(s) of experience in the loan processing/funding field, preferably in the auto finance industry.

·         Strong negotiation and problem solving skills.

·         Ability to interact with customers in a professional, tactful and sensitive manner.

·         Effective communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.

·         Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to work independently as well as part of a team.

·         Adaptability to new processes and systems

·         High School Diploma or GED.
