A highly regarded and inclusive primary school in Cambridge is looking to appoint a committed and inspiring Year 2 Class Teacher from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for a passionate educator who is confident in Key Stage 1 practice and ready to support pupils as they transition towards Key Stage 2.

About the Role

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils through their final year of KS1, ensuring strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and independent learning. You'll work as part of a collaborative, supportive team with a shared commitment to high standards and inclusive practice.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons that support academic progress and emotional development

Preparing pupils for end-of-KS1 assessments in a low-pressure, confidence-building environment

*

Using formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform next steps

*

Promoting a positive, inclusive classroom culture that values effort, resilience, and kindness

*

Building strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families to support each child's journey

Person Specification

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner with a genuine passion for teaching in Key Stage 1.

Essential criteria include:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching in KS1, ideally with familiarity with Year 2 curriculum and assessment frameworks

*

A thorough understanding of phonics, early literacy, and core mathematics strategies

*

Strong behaviour management and a nurturing, child-centred approach

*

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills

*

A collaborative attitude and a commitment to professional development
