Salary: £31000 - £33000/annum flexible depending on experience

ABOUT THE ROLE

I am working with a branded, multi-product sportswear business who are looking for x2 Assistant Merchandisers to join their team.

You will be responsible for ensuring categories are traded as effectively as possible, ensuring the flow & movement of stock through the business maximises profitability. You will also assist the Merchandiser in the delivery of the category strategy.

Responsibilities:

* Managing the category intake calendar and order book

* Assist the merchandiser in the range planning process

* Support merchandiser with monthly trading reviews & WSSI trading

* Deliver lessons learnt analysis

* Owning the planning for a small category/initiative Trading

* Providing insights and recommendations for weekly trading meetings

* Execute category trading actions

* Manage & trade forward orders, ensuring we are bringing in the appropriate products in the correct quantities at the right time to meet consumer demand, whilst staying within your intake limits

* Re-forecast forward orders of products, ensuring suppliers are aware of expected demand and that they will have the correct quantities available.

* Manage the allocation setup to maximise the return on stock already in the business.

* Support the Merchandiser with supplier trading meetings, providing any relevant information

Skills and Experience:

* A background in stock management. Experience of having worked as an Assistant Merchandiser (or experienced senior MAA ready to step up) and having managed an MAA/Assistant

* Understanding of a WSSI

* Experience of supplier management - and not afraid to pick up the phone

* Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen

* Proactive, self-starter, go-getter - you will need to be comfortable working individually and as a team.

* This is a small team so you will have lots of autonomy and be required to make an impact quickly

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Proficient with Microsoft Office - especially Excel!

* Familiarity with demand forecasting and stock optimisation strategies.

This role is based in their Head Office in Wiltshire 3 days a week
