A respected and modern family-run law firm with offices in Chelmsford and Leigh-On-Sea is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor (2+ years PQE) to join its friendly, growing team. Known for its commercial approach and first-class client service, the firm advises a broad mix of individuals and businesses across a wide range of employment matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated solicitor to take on a varied caseload, work closely with senior leadership, and play a key role in delivering pragmatic legal solutions in a supportive and flexible working environment.



The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Solicitor with 2+ years PQE to join a collaborative and forward-thinking legal team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals and have direct client engagement, handling a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
The role involves advising both individuals and corporate clients, with an emphasis on building strong relationships and delivering pragmatic, commercially sound advice.



Key Responsibilities

  • Advising employees on a full range of employment law matters, including redundancy, disciplinary processes, grievances, settlement agreements, and tribunal representation
  • Supporting business clients with day-to-day HR and employment law issues, including drafting employment documentation and ensuring legal compliance
  • Managing and developing relationships with clients and professional referrers
  • Contributing to team targets and business growth initiatives
  • Staying up to date with employment legislation and legal best practices
  • Representing clients in employment tribunals and other dispute resolution forums where appropriate


Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years PQE in employment law
  • Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills-clear, confident, and client-friendly
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Committed to delivering high levels of client service
  • A collaborative team player with a strong professional work ethic
  • Commercially aware and comfortable with client-facing responsibilities
