This job rotates through and experiences various aspects of the organization's administration. The Fellow is exposed to a number of different entities including, but not limited to, hospitals, clinics, business development areas, strategic operations, and corporate offices. Participates in a broad range of hands-on experiences and projects that will prepare him or her for future opportunities in health care leadership. Additionally, applies the theories, principles and skills learned in the academic portion of a graduate program in business or health care administration to the Fellowship. This job is exposed to unique projects throughout each rotation in order to cultivate competencies that are critical to the success of leadership in the health care environment. Focuses on core competencies across a number of disciplines and may have rotations across several of the following departments including: Clinical Operations, Hospital Operations, Strategy, Business Development, Strategic Operations, Strategic Programs, Community Hospitals, and Financial Analysis. Assigned applicable project work and an executive preceptor who is responsible for serving as a mentor throughout each rotation. The executive preceptor facilitates project reporting, progress evaluations, and feedback to ensure continuous competency development of the Fellow. The Program Administrator facilitates feedback and overall coordination. Fellows have the opportunity to collaborate with executives and senior administration throughout the duration of the program. Demonstrates actions consistent with company Expectations as duties are performed on a daily basis.

Ochsner's Administrative Fellowship - NURSING

The application deadline for the July 2021-June 2022 Administrative Nursing Fellowship cycle is Monday, September 28, 2020. All required documentation must be submitted by deadline date to be considered. Application submittals must include the following items to be considered:

Job Description

Required - candidates must have completed the didactic portion of an accredited graduate program. Preferred candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing AND:

- Current Louisiana License required upon hiring
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

or in the process of completion of at least one of the following credentials prior to July 2021 start date:

- Master of Science in Healthcare
- Master in Healthcare Administration
- Master in Health Services Administration
- Master of Public Health
- Master in Business Administration
- Or other related accredited graduate program
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Preferred -Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.

Work Experience
Required - Ability to define project objectives, identify stakeholders, plan steps, and allocate resources to achieve objectives in a resourceful manner

Preferred- Basic knowledge of hospital operations obtained through a previous position, administrative internship or graduate program in healthcare.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic knowledge of hospital operations obtained through a previous position or administrative internship
- Excellent analytical skills, Strong organizational skills, Strong communication skills, Strong time management skills, Good judgment
- Strong presentation skills, Excellent leadership skills, Basic project management skills
