Reed is proud to be working in partnership with an independent specialist school committed to transforming the lives of children and young people with a range of additional learning needs. We are seeking a passionate, motivated and highly skilled SENCo to join their dedicated team.

Aurora Meldreth Manor School is an independent specialist day and residential school set within a 14-acre accessible campus on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border. The school supports children and young people aged 6-19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, often alongside complex physical, sensory, or medical needs. With small class sizes, high staffing ratios, and a fully integrated therapy team, the school provides a highly personalised, holistic learning environment.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for professionals who can demonstrate:

QTS or QTLS A proven track record of creative, structured and outstanding teaching, ideally within special education Experience translating policy into effective practice Successful leadership of a key area, with measurable impact on school-wide standards Strong team leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively Excellent communication skills across a wide range of audiences and platforms

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

It would be advantageous if you also bring:

Accredited SEND training (e.g. Autism, Dyslexia) A recognised management or leadership qualification NPQSL / NPQH / SENDCo qualification   Experience designing and delivering inspirational CPD, coaching or mentoring Evidence of contributing to senior leadership decision-making Understanding of ASD interventions, e.g. TEACCH or similar frameworks Experience in curriculum leadership, including action planning and resource management
