Job Summary We are looking for a Computer Support Specialist with a wide range of experience in supporting Tier I Incident and Service Request tickets regarding operating systems, software, and hardware for personal computers and peripheral devices. Typical duties include installing, configuring, troubleshooting, inventory, and decommissioning personal computers, printers, and other peripherals, OS and system builds, and software Responsibilities Work individually and as part of a fully functional in-house Tier I Service Desk Team, supporting Incident and Service Request tickets for personal computer hardware, software, and peripherals Complete tasks from start to finish, with every step of the service management handled in-house Work directly with clients to troubleshoot reported issues Work with your team to manage a steady supply of requests Maintain working knowledge of industry standards and new technology in the personal computing field Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair MS Windows based workstations, monitors, local and network printers, wireless devices and other peripheral equipment Install, configure, and maintain client-based software applications, device drivers, and network related software applications. Perform limited network user administration in a Microsoft Apple OS client environment. Set up and tear down computers, peripherals and related networking equipment for small group meetings or large conferences. Open, document, and close tickets in our service desk tracking software - Service Now and JIRA. Provide direct phone support to our clients and coverage of the helpdesk on a rotating basis. Coordinate and manage repair requests of computer and related equipment with outside vendors. Maintain systems test lab, spare parts inventory, and storage areas. Candidate must be able to work some nights and weekends. Requirements Minimum 3 years relevant experience Bachelors degree (5 years of relevant experience can substitute for a degree) A Certification Demonstrated knowledge and experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Microsoft and Apple personal computers including operating systems, software, printers and peripherals Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and One Note Windows 10 OS Experience working in a Tier 1 Service Desk environment. Must be familiar with TCPIP network topologies and the use of TCPIP networking utilities. Must be skilled in the setup and implementation of networking devices (ex. hubs, switches, print servers,) Reasonably skilled utilizing disk imaging and data backup technologies Must have solid analytical and problem-solving skills Must be able to multi-task and handle multiple changing priorities Must be a self-starter and able to work independently Must have good organizational and interpersonal skills Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 25lbs SkillsExperience that are a plus Knowledge of or experience with ITIL JIRA Experience supporting a federal government agency
