Job Title: Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Abbey Wood, SE2 (South East London)
Position Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Rate: £100 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)

A welcoming and supportive secondary special needs school in Abbey Wood (SE2) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping students with special educational needs thrive in a structured, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students with a range of special educational needs (including autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties)

Working closely with teachers to deliver tailored support in class and in small groups

Encouraging engagement, independence, and positive behaviour

Assisting with personal care or physical needs, if required

Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Requirements:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, preferably in a secondary or specialist setting

Calm, patient, and confident in managing behaviour and emotional needs

Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff

A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent. Full training and ongoing support provided.
