Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Solution Architect to lead the end-to-end technical architecture and delivery of enterprise-scale implementations across Customer Service and Field Service workloads.
This role is accountable for defining architectural strategy, governing technical standards, and ensuring scalable, secure, and well-integrated solutions across complex enterprise environments. The Architect will act as the primary technical authority across the D365 platform, collaborating with enterprise architects, programme leadership, and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
- Own the end-to-end architecture across D365 Customer Service and Field Service
- Define scalable Dataverse data models, solution boundaries, and integration patterns aligned to enterprise architecture standards
- Produce architectural deliverables including:
- Solution blueprints
- Component and integration diagrams
- ALM strategies
- Environment and tenant governance models
- Define Dev ? SIT ? UAT ? Production environment strategy
- Lead architecture workshops, design reviews, and governance forums throughout the delivery lifecycle
Integration & Platform Architecture
- Design API-first, event-driven integrations between D365 and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, contact centre platforms, IoT ecosystems)
- Govern the Azure integration stack, including:
- Azure Service Bus
- Azure Functions
- API Management
- Logic Apps
- Event Grid
- Define resilience patterns (retry logic, idempotency, dead-letter handling)
- Oversee Custom APIs, Virtual Tables, and Dataverse endpoint governance
Technical Governance & Standards
- Define and enforce architectural standards, coding practices, and platform best practices
- Own the ALM strategy, including:
- Managed solution deployment
- Branching strategy
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)
- Design enterprise security architecture:
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Business unit hierarchy design
- Column-level security
- Azure AD / Entra ID integration
- Lead performance optimisation for high-volume environments
- Implement observability using Application Insights and Azure Monitor
Field Service Architecture
- Architect custom scheduling extensions and Resource Scheduling Optimisation (RSO) configurations
- Define mobile offline architecture for field technicians
