Job Description


The Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing all shipments, equipment and drivers assigned to their area of operation. This includes monitoring shipments, communicating delays, freight repower and coverage, tractor and trailer utilization and driver retention activiti

  4. Effectively informs and involves others on issues/actions with mutual impact; is accountable for follow through and communication to others.

  5. Develops, maintains and promotes maintenance of positive, respectful relationships with new and existing carriers, staff, vendors and customers and takes pro-active role in resolving conflicts and misunderstandings.


  6. Provides complete, accurate responses, disclosures and reports.

  7. Verifies facts, defuses rumor and hearsay and investigates issues to determine root cause.

  8. Accepts accountability for consequences of own actions, statements or omissions.

  9. Uses work time and PTO wisely; plans and completes tasks and special assignments on schedule, performs assigned tasks with little or minimal prompting or reminders.


  10. Understands the scope and expectations of the job; demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to meet expected outcomes.

  11. Completes duties and assignments timely, thoroughly and accurately, proofs/edits own work to ensure error free execution.

  12. Monitors on-time performance of pickups, stop offs and delivers

  13. Monitors driver and broker performance

  14. Processes load information via Qualcomm message and/or phone conversation with drivers

  15. Updates appropriate websites as required for Customer communication

  16. Adheres to all metric rules and ensures that performance and communication are compliant with metric rules. Strives to be metric violation free.

  17. Responsible for equipment utilization

  18. Schedules, in conjunction with Maintenance, the required PM / DOT inspections for equipment

  19. Coach and counsel drivers (Includes monthly S.A.F.E scorecard and daily remedial counseling)

  20. Ensures all P1 and P2 expirations for Drivers, Equipment and Brokers assigned to their business are addressed and resolved.

  21. Load reallocation as necessary

  22. Monitors, accepts and negotiates Add Cancel requests by customers

  23. Ensure check calls are administered every 2 - 4 hours.

  24. Adheres to all Quality and company processes and procedures.

  25. Adheres to Corporate Principles, including the Operations Principle of S.C.O.R.E.S (Safety, Cost, Ownership, Relationships, Efficiency, Service).

  26. Performs other tasks as requested by Operations Management (including Shift Managers).

  27. Performs other duties as assigned.

  28. May be required to work additional hours or shifts including weekends. Weekend availability required.


  29. Is uniformly courteous and respectful to co-workers, customers, vendors and the public. Resolves conflict, work issues and personal work related concerns professionally. Strives for consensus and mutual understanding.

  • Education: High School Diploma

  • Experience: 2 years or more in transportation industry preferred

  • Ability to use multiple computer based programs to collect, analyze data

  • Outstanding writing skills.

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of Trucking Industry.
