Overview

We are seeking a proactive and community-focused Visiting Available Homes Officer to join our team. This role combines customer-facing duties with essential administrative tasks, all geared toward minimising the time a property remains empty and ensuring a high-quality service for our customers.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a positive mindset and a genuine willingness to contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Property Visits & Customer Engagement

  • Carry out property inspections to ensure homes meet required standards.
  • Conduct viewings with prospective tenants across the local region.
  • Complete tenancy sign-up appointments, offering excellent customer service throughout the process.

Operational Efficiency

  • Work proactively to reduce void times and ensure properties are let as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Liaise with internal teams and contractors to resolve issues affecting property readiness.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all inspections, viewings, and sign-ups.
  • Manage relevant documentation and ensure compliance with organisational procedures.
  • Provide flexible administrative support based on operational needs.

About the Role

This is a hybrid position, requiring work across:

  • Home
  • Office (Leatherhead or Haywards Heath)
  • Local region (regular travel across Brighton & Chichester)

Mileage will be paid for all authorised travel.

Essential Requirements

  • Full driving licence and access to a car (mandatory)
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly across the region
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Positive, solution-focused attitude
  • Ability to work flexibly across both community-based and administrative tasks
  • Basic DBS clearance (required for appointment)

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience in housing, lettings, property management, or community engagement
  • Customer service experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of void management processes (beneficial but not essential)
