Role: Field Service EngineerSalary: £35,000 rising to £37,000Hours: 38 per week (OT is available)Location: Milton Keynes Based (Field Role)Duration: PermanentClient Summary:An established and expanding engineering firm providing a variety of train components to the rolling stock industry.Role Summary:As a Field Service Engineer, you will deliver on-site repair, maintenance, and upgrade services for a range of technical systems while ensuring exceptional customer support. You will diagnose and resolve faults, complete precise documentation, and provide training to customers to maximise equipment reliability and performance.Key Responsibilities:* Deliver on-site repair, maintenance, overhaul, and upgrade services for core systems.* Diagnose and resolve technical faults, recommending and implementing corrective measures.* Conduct customer training and provide clear operational guidance on equipment and processes.* Complete mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical assembly work to required specifications.* Prepare accurate service documentation and reports, including work logs and checklists.* Process replacement and repair orders in coordination with internal teams.* Support the execution of service contracts and maintain up-to-date customer documentation.* Liaise effectively with engineering and internal teams to ensure technical accuracy and support.* Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate training needs.Requirements:* Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)* Mechanical qualifications beneficial.* Be flexible to travel, work extended hours, and stay away from home when required.* Previous work experience with rolling stock vehicles (doors experience is a bonus)* Strong communication skills* Driver's License Required
