Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they take their next steps into adulthood? We're looking for a committed and compassionate SEND Community Coach to support small groups of students with EHCPs, helping them develop essential life skills. The successful candidate will be involved in delivering tailored coaching both on campus and within the local community, empowering learners to achieve their individual goals. This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks per annum). Job share / Flexible working may be considered.
You will design and implement half-termly coaching plans that align with students' EHCP outcomes and life skills targets. You'll collaborate closely with SEND Support colleagues, the Inclusive Practice curriculum team, and external professionals, drawing on your communication and teamwork skills to ensure a holistic, person-centred approach.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Provide tailored support to SEND students, including those on the autistic spectrum
- Support small groups and individuals in community settings to prepare for adulthood
- Contribute to EHCPs and create individualised learner profiles and support plans
- Work collaboratively with curriculum teams, specialist services, and external agencies such as CAMHS and Social Workers
- Build positive, respectful relationships with parents and carers
- Promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and confidence in learners
- Use technology effectively to support learning
- Ensure all health, safety, equality, and safeguarding policies are followed
