The School and Role

This Secondary SEND Alternative Provision, based in South Shields is looking to appoint a passionate Behaviour Support Assistant to work in Key Stage 3 and 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this Secondary SEND Alternative Provision as part of an established team, the desired Behaviour Support Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). This full time Behaviour Support Assistant role is long term from January ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.

The school is a fully inclusive place of learning which ensures that all pupils achieve their potential personally, socially, emotionally, physically and educationally. The school teaches basic skills to become successful and confident learners by delivering a personalised learning programme which will equip pupils to become responsible citizens. The school is a short-stay provision which provides placements according to the individual needs.


The desired Behaviour Support Assistant will have;

-          Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children

-          Experience of working with pupils with SEND

-          A passion for the progress of SEND secondary school pupils

-          An ability to work as part of a team
