Commercial Coordinator – Import (Freight Forwarding)

About the Role

We are seeking a commercially driven and customer-focused Commercial Import Coordinator to join our client's growing freight forwarding team. This role blends operational import coordination with proactive commercial support, helping drive customer retention, growth, and service excellence.

While the core focus is on ocean imports, experience across air, road, and multimodal is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary contact for a dedicated customer portfolio.
• Provide timely updates on rates, schedules, shipment milestones, and documentation.
• Deliver proactive customer communication to strengthen relationships and drive repeat business.

Operational Coordination

• Oversee end-to-end import movements, ensuring accurate bookings and efficient scheduling.
• Monitor shipments closely, resolving delays and exceptions to maintain service quality.

Commercial Support & Sales Enablement

• Prepare competitive and accurate freight quotations.
• Follow up on quotes to maximise conversion and secure new bookings.
• Support the sales team with customer data, pricing input, and tender documentation.

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure all shipments meet customs, regulatory, and trade compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across TMS and CRM systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with operations, sales, carriers, and global agents to deliver seamless service.
• Assist with onboarding new customers to ensure a smooth transition and strong start.

Reporting & Performance Tracking

• Support reporting on customer activity, quote performance, shipment KPIs, and operational efficiency.
