Job Description

Position Title:  Marine HVAC Mechanic/Technician Level III

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday  8:00am-5:00pm
 

The Marine HVAC Mechanic / Technician Level III will be able to perform quality repairs, refits and installation services to a variety of recreational and commercial vessels. This position will be able to accomplish these tasks from work order description. Oversee trades and train as needed. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

                Maintain a thorough understanding of boatyard practices and safety

                Maintain an assortment of hand tools and instruments for the trade

                Diagnose and make repairs per ABYC and manufacturer repair procedures

                Identifies abnormal conditions and communicates with supervisory staff

                Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs

                Contributes to establishing and maintaining work schedules

                Operate machine tools and test equipment

                Work outside the yard as required preforming mobile repair and service

                Maintain customer loyalty in accordance with the WBW Mission Statement

                Develop and close work orders consistent with shop calendar

 

PERSONAL DEMANDS

                Effective communication and listening skills

                Maintain a valid driver's license

                Pass drug test and random drug screenings

                Follow approved company dress code

                Prompt arrival and attendance at work locations

                Have solid written & verbal communication skills

                Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times

                Maintain a professional relationship with fellow employees, general public, subcontractors and   vendors

                Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor

                Have a flexible schedule when required

                Potential overnight travel            

                Maintain good housekeeping throughout the day

                Sea trial and sign off operation codes

               

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

                Individual should have no physical, sight, or hearing limitations

                Individual should have the ability to occasionally lift over 50 lbs. throughout the shift

                Individual should have no limitation of body movement

                Individual must be able to work in confined spaces

                Individual should have tolerance for the outdoor work environment

 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

                Must have Type II or Universal EPA Refrigeration Card

                Graduate of tech school or community college preferred

                 5 years' experience in marine HVAC, operation / repair
