Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Reactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to electrical faults, breakdowns, and urgent maintenance issues across a range of facilities. This role requires a proactive, safety-conscious individual who can diagnose and resolve problems efficiently to minimise downtime and disruption.

Key Responsibilities

Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and emergency call-outs

Diagnose electrical faults and carry out effective repairs

Perform maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems

Ensure all work is completed in compliance with current electrical regulations and health & safety standards

Liaise with clients, site managers, and internal teams to provide updates and solutions

Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including reports and documentation

Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance to reduce future reactive issues

Participate in on-call rota as required

Requirements

Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer or similar role

Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and under pressure

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Full UK driving licence (if role involves travel)

Desirable Skills

Experience working in commercial or industrial environments

Knowledge of building management systems (BMS)

Testing and inspection certification (2391 or equivalent)

Multi-skilled experience (basic mechanical knowledge)
