Primary SEND Teaching Assistant - Higher Needs

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Enfield to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with higher needs, including those requiring personal care, on a full-time basis starting ASAP.

This role is ideal for a compassionate and resilient individual with experience supporting children with complex needs in a primary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support for pupils with complex SEND needs

Support children with ASD, SEMH, physical disabilities, and communication needs

Assist with personal care, including toileting and hygiene support where required

Implement individual education, health, and care plans (EHCPs)

Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques

Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals

Requirements:

Previous experience supporting pupils with higher SEND needs

Comfortable and experienced with personal care responsibilities

Calm, patient, and nurturing approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Available full time and able to start ASAP
