Our dynamic client based in Coventry is looking for an Accounts Officer on a fulltime, permanent basis. This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate being a significant part of the Finance operations for a creative, forward thinking business in the arts industry.
You will be responsible for the smooth running of their payroll and purchase ledger, which due to the nature of the industry can be quite complex, therefore someone with great attention to detail and a methodical approach to work is essential. Proven experience working in an all-round accounts or finance position is also necessary, to allow you to really take ownership of your daily tasks and responsibilities.
General duties will include (but not limited to):
* Calculate and process all payroll payments for all staff and seasonal freelance staff
* Process pensions, PAYE, union payments
* Maintain employee records and sickness records and all pay rates and pension spread sheets
* Prepare timesheet analysis and input for payroll processing and reporting
* Monthly reconciliation and analysis of departmental payroll costs
* Attend all training courses relating to payroll legislation changes as required
* Support the Financial Controller with any duties necessary such as: balance sheet reconciliations of all wages control accounts and capital project claim preparation and record keeping
* Process all purchase ledger invoices received in line with the Company procedures and process weekly payment runs
* Resolve all discrepancies or disputes with relevant budget holder and supplier
* Reconcile all supplier statements to the purchase ledger and complete all purchase ledger tasks in line with the monthly Accounts timetable
* Set up and maintain all supplier records on the purchase ledger, ensuring full compliance with IR35 regulations for freelance workers
* Filing of all invoices/credit notes etc. and ensuring the filing system is properly maintained
* Reconcile and input credit card statements ensuring documentation is complete and maximising VAT recovery

In return, you will be offered a salary of up to £26k and will work a 39 hour week, Monday-Friday, with flexible start and finish times.
