Procurement Coordinator – Permanent | £31,297- £32,983 | Full-Time (36.5 hrs)

Location: Digbeth (with flexibility to work across centres)

Are you an organised, detail-driven procurement professional looking for your next challenge? This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring efficient, cost-effective procurement across a busy Further Education environment.

We’re currently supporting a college in Birmingham who are seeking a proactive Procurement Coordinator to manage end-to-end procurement processes, deliver value for money, and support the smooth running of college operations.

What You’ll Be Doing Procurement Management

  • Deliver value for money across all purchasing activity
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies
  • Conduct market research and assess potential suppliers
  • Lead on tenders, bid evaluations and contract negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and relevant regulations
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain positive relationships

Operational Support

  • Work closely with internal departments to understand their needs
  • Support the timely delivery of goods and services
  • Resolve procurement, delivery or supplier-related issues

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
  • Ensure health and safety compliance within procurement activity
  • Produce reports on procurement activity and performance

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven procurement experience (education sector preferred)
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of procurement regulations and best practice
  • Confident using procurement software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS)

Desirable:

  • Experience in sales
  • Experience managing large-scale procurement projects
  • Advanced Excel skills / ERP system experience
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations
