A forward-thinking secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Second in Department for Music to support the Head of Music in delivering a high-quality and inspirational music curriculum across Key Stages 3 to 5. Your Role

Assist the Head of Department in managing day-to-day running of the music department

*

Deliver engaging lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, inspiring students to develop musical skills and confidence

*

Support curriculum development, ensuring alignment with examination board requirements and enrichment opportunities

*

Help organise concerts, recitals, and school productions, fostering a vibrant musical culture

*

Mentor and support staff, including ECTs and less experienced teachers

*

Lead extracurricular music groups and liaise with local music organisations

Ideal Candidate

*

Qualified Music Teacher with QTS and relevant degree

*

Experience teaching across KS3-5, ideally with a specialism in performance or composition

*

Strong leadership skills and willingness to take on curriculum and staff development responsibilities

*

Passionate about fostering creativity and musical excellence in young people

*

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
