Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Groundworker to join a project in Taunton. The role involves all aspects of groundwork, including drainage, excavation, concreting, kerbing, paving, and site preparation. You will play a vital role in the early stages of construction projects, helping to lay the foundation for successful builds.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out all types of groundworks including excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling.
Install drainage systems including pipes, manholes, soakaways, and gullies.
Lay foundations, concrete slabs, footings, and substructure works.
Prepare and level ground for construction using hand tools and machinery.
Lay kerbs, paving slabs, block paving, and tarmac.
Operate small plant machinery (e.g., mini diggers, dumpers) safely and efficiently.
Read and work from site drawings and construction plans.
Work closely with site managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to complete tasks to specification.
Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Groundworker across all areas including drainage and concreting.
Competency in reading technical drawings and levels.
Skilled in the use of tools and small plant machinery.
CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) - Required.
Awareness of health and safety practices on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:

CPCS/NPORS for plant machinery (e.g., excavators, rollers, dumpers).
