Senior Backend Python Developer (Cloud & Microservices)

Salary: Up to £90,000

Location: Hybrid, London HQ

Reporting to: Head of AI and Data Science

Overview

Our client is hiring a Senior Backend Python Developer to build and maintain scalable backend systems supporting AI and automation projects. The successful candidate will work on cloud-based microservice architectures, helping integrate AI systems and backend infrastructure within the organisation’s technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, efficient backend systems using Python.
• Build and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Integrate backend systems with AI models and other internal/external services.
• Work within AWS or Azure environments for deployment and scaling.
• Collaborate with AI scientists and product managers to build seamless data-driven applications.
• Implement best practices in CI/CD, unit testing, and system integration.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Backend Python Developer, ideally within cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of microservice architecture and API development.
• Experience with AWS or Azure and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to MLOps or AI model integration is desirable.
• Strong coding standards, version control (Git), and testing practices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
