We are looking for a motivated and practically minded individual to join our engineering team as a Trainee Field Based Engineer. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone with a keen interest in mechanical or multi skilled engineering, seeking to build a long-term career in the industry.

You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience in mechanical repairs, installations, and routine servicing. The role includes a blend of on-the-job training and structured learning through both internal and external providers, with particular focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.

• Assist senior engineers with installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment

• Carry out mechanical assembly, routine servicing, and basic fault finding

• Ensure workspaces are kept safe, clean, and well-organised

• Complete all required job records, timesheets, and service reports accurately

• Participate in internal and external training sessions to build technical competence

• Travel to customer sites as required, including occasional overnight stays

• A genuine interest in engineering, mechanics, or maintenance

• Hands-on, practical approach with good problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Basic IT skills with the ability to record information using a tablet or PDA

• Willingness to complete formal training and qualifications

• Reliable, punctual, and professional conduct

• Full UK driving licence

• Flexibility to travel and occasionally work outside normal hours

• Structured training programme covering hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical basics

• On the job mentorship from experienced engineers

• Clear career path towards becoming a fully qualified Field Service Engineer or Multi Skilled Engineer
