Head Chef – £34,500 | 40 Hours per week
Our client is on the lookout for a Head Chef for their beautifully converted care home, a unique setting that blends traditional charm with high-quality care for older adults. As Head Chef, you’ll be responsible for the overall running of the kitchen, leading a small team to prepare and serve delicious, high-quality meals in line with residents' preferences and dietary requirements.
What They’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef in a care home or nursing home setting
- Strong understanding of allergen management, specialist diets, and texture-modified foods
- Confident with budget control, menu planning, and team supervision
- Up-to-date Food Hygiene Certificate
- A caring, resident-focused approach and a genuine passion for delivering quality food in a care environment
- Great communication and leadership skills

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare menus that are seasonal, balanced, and cater to individual dietary needs, including allergies and specialist diets
- Lead, manage and support the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee food ordering, stock management, and kitchen budgets efficiently
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure residents’ nutritional and emotional needs are met through enjoyable dining experiences
- Support and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional team culture
