Opportunity:

As Whitestar grows, so does the need to take on additional team members. They are currently in need of an experienced Senior Estimator with a background in either Electrical Installation or Construction.

As Senior Estimator you will be highly efficient with the desire to work in a fast-paced organisation where quality is key, and deadlines are met. You will be responsible for preparing quotations / tenders, maintaining and tracking information on quotations / tenders and providing client engagement through to operations delivery.

Key Responcibilities:

  • Utilise simPRO software exclusively for generating quotes and tender returns.
  • Produce electrical and data tenders for diverse clients, covering a wide range of project values.
  • Receive and handle inquiries for quotes and tenders.
  • Compile material take-offs for pricing, updating pricing through wholesalers as necessary.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients to determine project scopes.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers when needed and provide feedback to ensure the materials catalogue reflects current pricing.
  • Collate, analyse, and report on data. Secure projects and facilitate handover to the operations team for seamless execution.
  • Monitor project progress and assist with any required variations.
  • Demonstrate adeptness at multitasking, working under tight deadlines, and quick decision-making.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Whitestar and its goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate, analyse, and report on risks, opportunities, achievements, and improvements for the company.
  • Attend both internal and external meetings as necessary.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and proficiency in using relevant software tools.
  • A proven background in estimating or construction with 4 or more years’ experience in similar role.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic, good team player.
  • Amazing timekeeper with good organisational skills.
  • Motivated and works to own initiative.
  • Ability to learn on the job, adapt to change and confident in decision-making abilities.
  • Software Proficiency: Office 365.
  • BS 7671 qualification SimPRO (beneficial).

Bene?ts:

  • £55,000 to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualification)
  • 25 days holiday (3days to be taken over Christmas period)

This is a full-time, permanent position, and you will be o?ce-based (Hemel Hempstead - HP2 7DA)

40-hour Standard Week - Flexible site hours to needs of the business and working away as required (Official Office Hours 8.30 - 17.00 with half hour lunch break)
