Are you an experienced HR professional with strong Employee Relations expertise and a passion for driving organisational effectiveness? We are looking for a dynamic HR Business Partner to support a Senior HR Business Partner in delivering the people strategy across a complex, highly unionised environment.
This role plays a key part in shaping people plans, supporting organisational change, and acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.

Hybrid: 50% hybrid - expected to be 80% office based the first few weeks

About the Role
As an HR Business Partner, you will work closely with the Senior HRBP and senior leadership teams to deliver strategic people initiatives across designated business units. You will provide insight, challenge thinking, and recommend interventions that strengthen organisational performance.
You will also support day-to-day employee relations activity, including consultation, negotiation, dispute resolution, and building constructive relationships with Trade Unions.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver the people plan and HR BAU priorities.
- Build strong, credible relationships with senior managers and act as a trusted coach and advisor.
- Use business insights and data to influence decisions, challenge thinking, and recommend solutions that improve organisational effectiveness.
- Support the Senior HRBP with complex Employee Relations matters including negotiation, consultation, and dispute resolution.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with Trade Unions, employees, and internal HR specialists.
- Lead and deliver HR projects/programmes, ensuring effective implementation and clear evaluation.
- Act as a change expert, managing people-related elements of organisational change such as restructuring and TUPE.
- Ensure HR initiatives are delivered in line with business priorities and the People Strategy.
- Manage a small team (up to 5 people).
Knowledge & Expertise
- Strong understanding of organisational change programmes (e.g., TUPE, restructures, organisational redesign).
- Experience working within a complex, unionised environment.
- Knowledge of Trade Unions, legislation, governance, and collective bargaining.
- Good understanding of performance management and end-of-year review processes.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, ACAS best practice, and risk mitigation.
- Understanding of root-cause analysis and effective intervention planning.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification is desirable.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and deliver meaningful insight.

Experience Required
- Demonstrable experience managing complex consultation processes.
- Experience anticipating and preparing for Trade Union challenges.
- Strong background partnering with senior stakeholders in HR or people-focused environments.
