The Burford Recruitment Company is delighted to be working on behalf of a prestigious, family-run rural private estate located near Northleach in Gloucestershire. The estate is seeking a reliable and experienced Grounds Person to support the smooth running of its grounds, gardens, and wider estate.

This varied and hands-on role would suit a practical individual with a broad skillset, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to work across multiple departments including property maintenance, gardens, forestry, and animal care.

Job Description

* General grounds maintenance including grass cutting, strimming, and hedge trimming

* Maintenance of paddocks and estate lawns to a high standard

* Assisting with maintenance of the estate's cricket ground and pavilion

* Minor property repairs including stock fencing, clearing drains, and path upkeep

* Operating estate machinery including tractors, mowers, and attachments

* Supporting livestock and equine activities as required

* Assisting the forestry team with woodland tasks

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dependable and self-motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in high standards of presentation and upkeep. You will also need to be comfortable working alone as well as within a small, collaborative team.

Candidate Requirements

* Previous experience in estate work or grounds maintenance

* Skilled in using garden and agricultural machinery (tractors, ride-on mowers, etc.)

* Good practical and DIY skills

* Ability to work in all weather conditions

* Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

* Full UK driving licence is essential

Desirable Qualifications (training can be provided)

* NPTC Level 2 Chainsaw (or LANTRA equivalent)

* PA1 & PA6 Pesticide Application Certificates

* LANTRA Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler (telehandler) certificate
