Purpose:

To maximise rental income by effective and efficient recovery of debt owning to the Council
To ensure that activities are designed to progress the Council's income recovery performance, reflective of best practice and Housing Law

Main responsibilities

To contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective income recovery service
Undertake all aspects of income recovery, preparation and service of Notices, court attendance, including eviction where alternative solutions cannot be found.
To visit tenants and undertake income and expenditure assessments; identifying all opportunities to maximise income.
Ensure that IT systems are fully utilised to improve the collection of rent arrears.
To ensure that all contact is recorded in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Address all cases in accordance with the Councils policies and procedures, providing a fair service that considers individual circumstances while best protecting the Councils income.
To ensure that services are delivered in accordance with agreed performance targets.
To develop and maintain good working relationships with all relevant internal and external services, to ensure that the council meets its statutory duties.
