Long Term Futures is partnering with a one-form entry primary school in Kings Heath, Birmingham, to appoint a Year 2 Teacher for a full-time, one-term placement starting in the autumn term. There is potential for extension or a longer-term position.
About the School - One-form entry: pupils receive close, personalised attention.
- Fully accessible single-storey building with disabled facilities.
- Inclusive SEND support: high-quality teaching interventions and personalised adjustments, including one-page profiles and small-group or one-to-one support for pupils with complex needs.
- Strong use of restorative justice and emotion-coaching strategies to develop pupils' social and emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging Year 2 lessons.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress; report outcomes.
- Manage classroom behaviour positively and consistently.
- Work with a teaching assistant to support all learners, including those with SEN.
- Communicate effectively with parents, including hosting meetings.
- Differentiate resources and planning to meet diverse learner needs.
Ideal Candidate Will Have: -
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with completed ECT induction.

Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2.

Strong phonics knowledge and familiarity with KS1 assessments.

Confident classroom management and nurturing classroom presence.

A reflective and proactive teaching approach.
