Health & Safety Advisor - Construction | NE Scotland | Hybrid Site & Office Role

A leading construction services provider is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Advisor to join their growing team. This role offers an excellent balance of on-site presence and office-based responsibilities, with a strong focus on ISO compliance and continuous safety improvement across varied civil and construction projects.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal role ensuring health and safety excellence across a diverse range of construction sites. The successful candidate will be instrumental in guiding operational teams, driving risk management, and maintaining full compliance with up-to-date legislation and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure health and safety compliance.

*

Review and approve subcontractor safety documentation prior to work commencing.

*

Support the creation and review of RAMS and project safety plans.

*

Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions.

*

Maintain and update internal health and safety systems, policies, and procedures.

*

Deliver safety briefings, bulletins, and presentations to keep staff informed and compliant.

*

Liaise with project teams to monitor compliance across weekly paperwork and procedures.

*

Support ISO and statutory compliance audits and ensure documentation readiness.

About You

*

NEBOSH certification is essential.

*

Background in the construction or civils sector is highly desirable.

*

Confident conducting site visits and equally comfortable managing audits and documentation in an office environment.

*

Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation and ISO standards.

*

Effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels - from site operatives to directors.

*

Proactive, detail-focused, and passionate about maintaining a safe working environment.
